Kathryn graduated cum laude from the University of Houston Law Center and was admitted to the Texas bar in 2001. She spent the first six years of her career at a mid-sized Houston litigation firm. During those years, she handled a wide range of cases including environmental contamination, premises liability, trucking cases, insurance coverage analysis and litigation, appellate, and of course auto liability claims. She obtained both first and second chair trial experience in the auto, trucking, premises liability and commercial property management arenas. In 2007, she launched the firm in order to provide quality legal services at a lower cost. Kathryn has received an AV peer rating by Martindale-Hubbell, which is the highest rating of professional excellence and ethics. When not working, Kathryn loves to travel.
Jason was admitted to the Texas Bar in 2000. He is a two time Baylor graduate with a B.A. and J.D. from the University. Prior to joining the firm in 2008, he litigated and tried a wide array of cases ranging from intellectual property and partnership disputes to personal injury claims arising from property defects and automobile accidents. Jason has focused his practice on litigating and trying third-party cases on behalf of the firm’s insurance clients. He has a reputation for trying cases and a strong record of defense verdicts and verdicts below the settlement demands of opposing counsel.
Cathy Lea McAlister was raised in Liberty, Texas, and attended The University of Texas earning a degree in Interior Design. She graduated from South Texas College of Law and began her legal career in 1992 at State Farm’s house counsel, followed with defense work in construction, oil and gas, nursing home and 18-wheelers. She is back doing what she loves, car wreck cases!
Jeremy Foltz is a graduate of North Carolina State University and the University of Houston Law Center. He has practiced insurance defense since 2001 and has recently added juvenile delinquency defense to his practice. He and his wife are the parents of two amazing boys.
Carrie Garcia Sanders
Carrie Is a 2003 year Baylor Law Graduate. She is also a proud member of the Fightin' Texas Aggie Class of 2000! Whoop! She is licensed in Texas and Mississippi. She practices in both State and Federal Court. She has worked in-house for State Farm, GEICO, and United Auto, and as outside counsel for Progressive, along with many other non-standard, commercial, and auto carriers. Her practice areas include medical malpractice, auto and trucking, personal injury litigation, general civil litigation, premises, products and workplace litigation. Former clients include Pioneer Natural Resources, Swift and Aldi. She has tried over 50 cases before a jury.
Kanchan was admitted to the Texas Bar in 1993. She is a graduated of South Texas College of Law and has worked for and tried cases for several of the major in-house insurance law firms including State Farm, Progressive, Safeco and Liberty Mutual. In addition to her experience with insurance defense, she also worked for the Houston city attorney’s office and Baker Hughes. She has demonstrated a habit of detail-oriented representation and emphasizes open and frequent client communication.
Danielle was admitted to the Texas Bar in 2017. After receiving her undergraduate degree in Psychology from Texas A&M, she went on to South Texas College of Law. During law school she was on the executive board for the Hispanic Law Student Association and participated in intramural mock trials. She has been practicing for 3 years, focusing on civil litigation. Danielle has an enthusiasm for the courtroom and the practice. Danielle is fluent in Spanish.
Aissa I. Garza
Aissa I. Garza graduated from St. Mary’s Law School and became licensed in Texas State Courts and the Western District of Texas Federal Courts in 2010. Since then, she has become a Certified Public Accountant and Certified Fraud Examiner. In October 2020, Aissa became a mother for the first time and is loving every moment of it - even the 3am feedings.
Josh graduated from Northern Illinois University College of Law in 2014. He has an undergraduate degree in Risk Management and Insurance from Illinois State University in Bloomington, IL. Prior to becoming an attorney, he worked as an adjuster for Auto Owners Insurance. He has been practicing insurance defense for 5 years. Go Bears!
Melissa is a native Spanish speaker and Houstonian who graduated from the Thurgood Marshall School of Law and was admitted to the State bar in 2019. While at Thurgood, Melissa was on the Dean’s List and participated in the school’s legal clinic, where she honed her skills for litigation and zealous client representation. Prior to joining the firm, Melissa practiced in the areas of immigration and personal injury law and was former in-house defense counsel for United Auto Insurance Services.
Steve was admitted to the Texas Bar in 1996 after serving in the U.S. Army. He obtained his law degree from the University of Houston Law Center. Although he has represented both plaintiffs and defendants throughout his career, the majority of his experience has been focused on insurance defense. His involvement on both sides of the bar provides for a unique perspective which makes him an effective advocate for his clients. He is Board Certified in Personal Injury Trial Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization and is licensed to practice in Georgia.
Eric received his undergraduate degree from the University of Montana in 2003. Eric attended St. Mary’s University School of Law in San Antonio, Texas. He was admitted to practice law in Texas in November 2006. Eric started his practice primarily as a criminal defense and family law attorney. Eric then worked with a firm and served as captive counsel for a nonstandard multi-state automotive insurance company, defending their insured’s in and around Bexar County. Eric joined Anderson & Truitt in January of 2021. Over the course of his career, Eric, has defended and tried a variety of cases ranging from traffic citations to murder to auto accidents. Eric has served clients in a variety of different Courts from City Municipal Courts to Justice of the Peace to State County Courts and District Courts.
